Uspa I love you.

It’s been a long time between drinks from the fountain of youth for this little spaQ reviewer, so needless to say that when I found out I had a spare 90 minutes to spend in spaQ this week I was over the moon.

I booked in for the Uspa Concept Facial, that includes a facial, back massage, and hand or foot rub. Sound like bliss? It was.

My therapist Helena, took me into the room. My last treatment with Helena had seen me fall asleep in under ten minutes, and I was determined to stay awake for the entire 90 minutes this time. (I didn’t manage a full 90 minutes awake, but I did experience the full facial which was a real achievement!).

The treatment began with a back massage (that I fell asleep during so must have been very good). I woke up when Helena asked me to turn over for the facial component. They have this wonderful way of holding the towel and rug so you can turn over without them seeing any of your exposed skin which I find very comforting.

The facial began with Helena checking out my skin, noting that it was dry (I am hopeless at remembering to moisturise and great with the toner and makeup remover which doesn’t leave me with the plumpest finish on my skin). Then she worked her way through the range of spaQ Uspa products that are part of the facial.

Starting with a toner, moving onto an exfoliator, then onto a fabulous mask that feels like chocolate mousse is being spread onto your skin (a favourite of musician Lanie Lane), and then to a moisturising vitamin C moisturising face massage.

You feel like you get to experience almost the entire range with this facial and massage combination, and my skin felt so fantastic afterwards I wanted to get every single one of the treatment components and take them home and do it for myself!

After I had  rounded off my treatment time with the signature tea in the relaxation room (where I nearly fell asleep again), I changed back into my ‘real life clothes’ as I like to call my non-spa attire these days, picked up my Uspa purchases, and an amazing silk pillow case that apparently keeps your skin from wrinkling up over night (hopefully it will turn into a magic pillow case and take a way a few of the existing lines too).

Again, a sublime spa experience. Again, I didn’t want to leave. Again, I spent a small fortune on beauty products. It’s worth it though. These are organic and cruelty-to-animals free. Every now and then I have caught myself in the mirror over the past few days and cursed the fact that I am so hopeless with my beauty regime, because you really can see the difference it makes when you use great products regularly.

Here’s the rundown on the facial:
