Liberation Music are proud to announce that Vance Joy’s much loved song, ‘Riptide’ has been certified GOLD by ARIA (Australian Record Industry Assoc.)

‘Riptide’ is taken from the Melbourne artist’s debut EP God Loves You When You’re Dancing. Since its release earlier this year, ‘Riptide’ has worked its way into our hearts, winning more and more fans with each passing day, and steadily climbing the charts in the process.  Within hours of upload to Soundcloud, the song hit #1 on Hype Machine’s Most Popular Chart. Triple J quickly got on board, and soon after ‘Riptide’ had worked its way up the iTunes Singles Chart and the ARIA Streaming Chart, where it reached #12.  Now with commercial radio also smitten, ‘Riptide’ has secured its highest position yet on the ARIA Singles Chart at #29.  This week, it’s looking set to go even higher.  And with the chart success comes the sales, now amounting in excess of 35,000 and GOLD status!

In many ways, Vance Joy’s story has been similar to Riptide’s, slowly but surely wooing us with his exquisite song-writing and heartfelt tunes.  The year so far has been an extremely busy one for him, and is not looking to slow down anytime soon.  Following his recent signing to Atlantic Records, Vance has been on tour in America.  The remainder of the year will follow a similar path, with the artist criss-crossing the globe for tours in Australia, Canada and the US.  Coming up this month, he has the honour of supporting Bernard Fanning on his sold-out Departures Tour and also performing at Splendour In The Grass.

In August, Vance Joy will take to the road for his own ‘Riptide’ Tour, which is selling fast.  A third Corner Hotel show in Melbourne is now on-sale and a second Oxford Arts Factory in Sydney. There are limited tickets for shows in Adelaide, Brisbane and Fremantle remaining.

Congratulations Vance Joy, on a GOLD single and another (soon to be) sold-out tour.
