Local band (and by local we mean from our neighbouring sister city, Brisbane, but we all know that they wished they came from our gold-paved streets) My Fiction have confirmed a night at the Loft on our favourite inland island, Chevron Island, on Saturday March 15. And it’s about damned time too.

Through a string of EPs, countless shows, and the release of their debut album in 2011 FIREROMANCEFIRE, the band’s commitment to keeping the faith and, in many ways, just keeping on playing and creating has found them rise to the best creative form of their lives as they edge ever closer to the release of album number two – Shallow Highs.

For the band though, the past year has been about getting back to basics – writing great songs and playing great shows. Reunited with producer and collaborator Magoo (who worked with the band on their debut album) the band are riding on a high and producing the most exciting music of their career. Perhaps most importantly though, they’re having fun.

To celebrate the launch of their latest single, Clever Kids, the hirsute crew will be slamming the stage at the Loft for one night only. With additional help from Amy Shark, Michelle Xen and Neon Wild, this is going to be a night that you’ll want to make sure you’re wearing comfortable shoes.

For more information, head to their Facebook page here.

The Loft is located at 54a Thomas Drive, Chevron Island Surfers Paradise.
