We do enjoy a good ensemble be it either in the shape of a comfortable sofa or the sounds of a ten-piece band that brings the happiness in the form of funk and Latin fusion. Yes, we are talking about His Merry Men who have confirmed a night at the Southport Sharks AFL Club on Friday, April 25. Prepare to move your body!

His Merry Men are a 10-piece party machine from Brisbane led by the powerful vocals of front woman, Megan Crocombe. With roots heavily grounded in funk n soul, His Merry Men add flavours of surf rock, hip hop and jazz for an all out dance party experience.

Hailed as Brisbane’s latest darlings of funk His Merry Men take cues from legends such as Tower of Power, James Brown, Aretha Franklin and recent successes such as Mark Ronson, The Bamboos and The Cat Empire.

Since forming in late 2009 His Merry Men has played an average of 50 shows a year with several tours over the East Coast of Australia spanning from Yeppoon to Melbourne including festival appearances at Caloundra Music Festival, Snowy Mountains Music Festival, Live It Up Music Festival and many more. They released their debut album ‘Kind of Loud’ in 2012 with their lead single ‘Super Secret Spies’ being played nationally on Triple J’s Roots n All Program and numerous community radio stations.

We honestly believe that music should ultimately be something that makes you want to dance, smile, and feel good inside and His Merry Men are basically joy incarnate. This will be a great chance to see one of the best in local talent play at an intimate venue.

His Merry Men will be at Southport Sharks on Friday, April 25. Event is free and all ages welcome.
