So I’ve got a major thing for the Japanese Rockabilly movement. It was really brought to my attention when I saw the film clip for the Peter Bjorn and John song, ‘Nothing to worry about’. It took me back to the days of watching Danny Zuko shake that leather clad bod as he got up to all kinds of mischief. Re-watching Grease is a bit of a guilty pleasure though. There wasn’t a speck of guilt as I checked out these hotter than hottie hot hot rockers getting into the groove.
Japanese rockabilly guys usually dance at Yoyogi Park on Sunday. Yoyogi Park is a large city park located adjacent to Harajuku Station, in Tokyo. Catapulted to fame via this video and mega youtubing, it’s now up there with the harajuku girls made famous by Gwen Stefani (whose shit is clearly bananas B.A.N.A.N.A.S if she decided to focus on the girls over there rather than these guys).
I’m not going to ruin it for you, just go see for yourself. Yes, I may have very esoteric taste.
