Never let it be said that we let some healthy competition get in the way of a good time (jokes – they’re no competition, we’re awesome) our neighbour the Grand Chancellor Hotel, are hosting their annual Elvis Festival, Viva Surfers Paradise, from July 11 until July 20. Yes, expect a hurricane of rhinestones, sequins, blue suede and hair pomade to rain down on you in all its sweaty excellent glory!

Obviously we here at the QT clearly have a love of all things retro and Elvis in particular is someone who we feel really captures that timeless cool aesthetic – our hotel is practically a homage to his early surf and sound movies! With a voice like velvet and the looks of a Roman god, Elvis was truly one of a kind.

The festival will include a whole array of acts such as Legends of Rock ‘n’ Roll Tribute Show, Rock ‘n’ Roll dance lessons, Show and Shine displays, Retro Fashion Parade, Elvis Exhibition, and feature performances by world leading Elvis Tribute Artist, Chris Connor.

In order to really capture that Elvis mythology, you can even have your wedding vows renewed by Gold Coast’s very own Elvis, Dean Vegas, or perform at the Elvis Tribute Artist contest for your chance to secure a spot in the Ultimate ETA contest held in Memphis.

Viva Surfers Paradise is a free event. For diehard fans, Limited Premium Reserved Seating is available for the Legends of Rock ‘n’ Roll Tribute show and the Chris Connor’s shows.
